Come on let's be serious does anyone other than the Disney bean counters want another one, Crystal Skull was an embarrassment, and without either Lucas or Spielberg the heart of the story just isnt there.

Just like the Star Wars sequels, it's pretty obvious that this will be a passing-of-the-torch story to set up a future set of franchise movies with a much younger actor. Disney paid Lucas $4B for Star Wars and Indy and they very much intend to make a large return on their investment.

And more than likely ruin this ones legacy as well just like they did with Star Wars

They just delayed its release until 2023, also. Harrison is going to be almost 81 when it's released. Looking at set photos, he still looks remarkably good for his age. (He's always been very fit and has a ranch that he spends most of his time tending to.) But this is almost certainly his last film and I guarantee that this will be, as I said, engineered to put another actor in the lead role.
I have a feeling, though, that it's unlikely to work as intended. The problem is that they've moved the franchise into at least the 1960's by now. At what point do the Indiana Jones movies start to become the National Treasure franchise? Without HF and the talents of Spielberg and Lucas, I don't think that the Indiana Jones franchise will continue.

I am one of the few who loved Crystal Skull but enough is enough.
If we need a sequel to a dead franchise bring back Angelina Jolie as Lara Croft instead.

totally agree Gus enough is enough yes Harrison is a healthy 79 year old but he is exactly that a 79 year old in an action movie its as bad as watching Patrick Stewart in Picard

It's a bit silly this.
Similar to all the excitement re James Bond at the moment the unavoidable fact is that the IP for these franchises is the character name.
It's not like Star Wars or Star Trek were you can cash in on the title and keep churning out garbage regardless of who's in them. It needs to have Indiana Jones going forward after this one otherwise it isn't, erm... Indiana Jones 🙄.
Therefore there's literally no point in even making this film. It serves no purpose - Harrison Ford can't take the place of Sean Connery in terms of playing the senior figure.
They should simply have cast a new actor as Indiana Jones and set it back in the day.

Surely that's what he did in the last one.

Does anyone WANT to see another actor as Indiana Jones? They tried that with Han Solo and, despite the fact that many view it as a good film, it didn't do very well. I suppose you could point to the Star Trek reboot series success, but I'm not sure that translates.

Who knows - they did it with James Bond and that worked out ok...
That's not to say that's what I'd want to see in any case. Personally I'd rather they didn't make any more at all but if they insist I'd rather just see another actor playing Indy.
I really don't think setting it up for another character will work. e.g. Can anyone see something like:-
"Phoebe Waller-Bridge is Alexandra Jones in: Alexandra Jones and the Goblet of Rehash
The Indiana Jones Legacy Chronicles"
working? Because that's how they'd have to present the next film I'd imagine...
