Discuss Jurassic Park

I just watched this again and thought that James would have been perfect for the finale with the dinosaurs chasing everyone. Aliens comes to mind. I then thought that James generally is great at casting, and the cast would probably be different as the girls seemed to overact everything.

No, they are two different directors, both talented but Spielperg has a greater ability to create emotions of feeling uncertainty and anxiety with which we follow the evolution of situations full of drama and uncertain outcome, very often observed in audience perceptions , in cinematographic narrative works, also precedes Cameron and the former King Midas of today's movie box office. I doubt both are outdoing each other's masterpieces. Regardless of my considerations, I prefer Spielperg for the luck that I had to grow with his classics that childhood is adolescence is reserved for me ... from reality. Maybe I derailed from the question but it was not my intention to be long-winded .. forgive my extravagance!

English please!

I like to see his take on it. His style would make it into a classic

I was eight in 1993, so I'm glad Spielberg got it. Not to say Cameron wouldn't have made a great movie, but it most likely would have been an R and not as accessible.

What about casting? Bill Paxton as Ian Malcolm? Michael Biehn as Dr. Grant? Lance Henriksen as Muldoon?

To be honest... no. It would have been too "actiony" and less thriller I think. With the exception of "The Terminator", and (if you really stretch it) Piranha 2, he hasn't really demonstrated much skill at horror/thriller films.

Would James Cameron have done a better job?

"Better" is in the eye of the beholder. J-Cam may have included a scene in which a barely pubescent Ariana Richards convinces Sam Neil to resuscitate his love of art, by having him paint her in the buff, ala. DiCaprio and Winslet in Titanic. For the crowd that's still getting their jollies off to stills of Brooke Shield's in "Pretty Baby", that might have made for a superior film, compared to what Spielberg ultimately gave us. Not sure how well that would've been received by audiences at large though

Funny.
I honestly don't think Cameron is that generic, but yeah, I don't think it would have the heart that the film we got was. Then again, I am one of those in the major minority with my believe that he ruined the Alien franchise. Not that Aliens is by any means a bad film, but it absolutely destroyed the horror aspects of the series, and also ruined the presence of the alien. From that film onwards, any film that didn't up the scale of action was going to be a disappointment.
