Things were looking pretty hairy and dark for a second until Clyne pulls his sh*t together and does some Sherlock Holmes reasoning.

"Hold up....hold up bros....it's not spirits it's Bose-Einstein condensate because another bro was hiding in a ceramic tub"

Later on Clyne goes into full bro-beastmode when new unconventional weapons are needed to deal with the menace. Clyne starts pulling out a bunch of random screws, bolts and electronics from random items and starts gluing, taping and screwing them together like some secondgrade-bro Gyro Gearloose.

Soldier: "Should we test these weapons Clyne?"

Clyne:" Nah...bro...it's all good.

Soldier:" I don't know Clyne....seems an awful lot more complicated than a simple handgun and they testfire those hundreds of times....."

Clyne:" I said its' fine bro!"

I thought the storyline of this movie was meh, no worse than the average big-budget sci-fi, but nothing special. Lots of dumb technobabble and plenty of dumb choices just like any other sci-fi movie.

Except for two things that were somewhat major departures from your average hollywood story:

1) The scientist is the hero, the bad guys who built the zombie generator were never even on screen.

2) Lots of teamwork. There was a tiny little conflict between the scientist and the military bros at the start, but they quashed it quick and after that they all worked together with no interpersonal bullshit, no one was an asshole, no one was a gloryhound, they all had each other's backs 100%. I kept expecting them to shit on the CIA agent but they didn't even take that well-worn trope of blaming the CIA for double-dealing.
