Not necessarily. They seem to just do what they want now. They could view Janssen as too over the hill for a big part. You could tell they were CGIing over her wrinkles in DOFP so they're clearly self conscious of that. And Chastain looks more like Sophie Turner than Jaasnen does. They're not above taking liberties with their own franchise.
Is Lilandra even in this movie?
I'd rather not because I don't want them to take the films into space and introduce aliens and all that. Unless they found a really good way to do it it would just get silly. Apocalypse was silly enough already.

That's funny because the space travel and aliens were precisely what the original comicbook series that this film is adapting was about. I'm thinking of that article I looked at on here that stated CBM fans can handle it. They probably won't do it that way, but they should.

I believe that the way they've done the films thus far, the whole extended space universe of the comics wouldn't fit. If they found a very good way to do it then I'm for it. But I think it would be very difficult. I'm all for faithfulness to the source material if you can make it work. But I just think it would be too big a jump.
If they prove me wrong, great. But we've got a first time director and an overcrowded cast.
The xmen cinematic universe and timeline is so off it's face fcked up they could cast Oprah as Jean Grey and I wouldn't flinch.
Good point. The way to look at these movies is to see them as one-offs that share a little bit of context to tie them loosely together. They don't work as a cohesive cinematic universe.

Maybe she's playing Madeline Pryor?

Maybe. She looks like she could play an older Jean Grey. But wouldn't they get Famke Janssen for that?

Too bad. IMO, Chastain looks a whole lot like the Lilandra character in the face.
