Discuss Basic Instinct 2

..BI2 is an inferior sequel and came too many years too late.

Sorry to say, even though David Morrissey rocked as the Governor on The Walking Dead, he can't hold the movie opposite Sharon Stone the way Michael Douglas did in the first movie (who was the star at the time & Sharon a virtual unknown). According to that other movie site, Rupert Everett, Jude Law, Ewan McGregor, Gabriel Byrne, Javier Bardem, Benicio Del Toro, Viggo Mortensen and Aaron Eckhart were all in the running to star opposite Sharon Stone at one point. I honestly think ANY of those would've been better then David! He just wasn't a good fit for this role.

I started watching it, but the opening scene seemed too ridiculous.

Michael Caton-Jones has directed movies I like, including The Jackal, so you'd think I should trust him here, but the way Trammel was played in that first scene with the police was silly.

Is it worth watching through?

I never saw this because it seemed to be another lame sequel to a Veerhoven masterpiece, done without Veerhoven. Someone ought to release a DVD box set: Robocop 2, Starship Troopers 2, Basic Instinct 2. The "We couldn't afford to bring Veerhoven back! Box Set" Now in the $3.99 bin at Best Buy.
