So, I was trying to watch this film and somehow forgot I live with a 1 year old 
it was all a bit fuzzy to me, definitely gonna have to watch again! It's bugging me though, did we find out who was following Davis in the station wagon?

It was not very apparent. I had to rewatch it to confirm my suspicion. The station wagon driver was the person who crashed into the car killing his wife. You see him get out of the station wagon before he meets Gyllenhaal's character infront of his wife's grave near the end.
