Discuss Avengers: Infinity War

Star-Lord's ridiculous tantrum and the overbearing score were the spit in the face I needed to realise that I don't like these movies. I went through the MCU and saw that I've only rated about a third of them as decent or good. That's a lot of mediocrity and garbage that I've wasted my time on. Well, it stops here. I'm not going to let you spit on me anymore, Disney. 👋

Compare this movie to Mad Max: Fury Road. It's very obvious which is the better movie. It's not this one ... I saw a trailer for an action movie from the 1980s today, and everything about that two-minute clip felt so much more real and impressive than anything in Avengers: Infinite Greenscreen. This capeshit is killing the art of cinema.

Hahah, it was less that I was undecided, and more that I didn't want to miss out on the party ... buuuut the party's turned out to be pretty cringey and the longer I stick around the more embarrassed I am for everyone involved. I absolutely should have dipped ten movies ago.

The moderators deleted my original reply about you being an easily manipulated tit who after a record breaking (19) Marvel movies still can't get into his thick head that the genre isn't for him. Which means you've wasted a hundred or more dollars or pounds to Marvel due to being a dithering retard.

T

You truly are a nasty little child who, as I said in another thread, does nothing but hurl insults and call people names. I mean, how many times are you going to call someone a "dithering idiot/retard," or a "gobshite?" The irony is that YOU are the very definition of a gobshite. Just go away, and let the adults engage in intelligent conversation.

This stupid forum bitch kuntanamar has turned stalker lol this has made my Friday. When an utter cretin can't after almost (20)Marvel films decide if he likes a genre or not... you bet your salty vagina I'm going to call him out on his brutal stupidity. You juvenile turd. You don't like or want to me to ridicule you then grow a fuckingg braincell. There are no fuckingg adults on here, you insufferable bitch.

Stalker? I'm not stalking you. I just can't seem to go anywhere on the Infinity War boards without encountering your childish insults and vitriol. As far as there being no adults here, there are, you're just not one on them.

You know infinity war is on my top 3 favorite movies of all time along with the matrix and pulp fiction. That said while I definitely disagree with you when I first read your comment I was like ok it's just your opinion I respect it.But then you mention mad max fury road which I think is criminally overrated so now I have to comment.Alright, mad max fury road is an okay movie with spectacular visual effects and action scenes. But take its fancy cgi and amazing cinematography away and all you got is a mediocre story, little character development,a boba fett type villian,a good supporting role and a shitty protagonist. There is not a single moment in the movie that makes me like mad max the title character. He gets totally outshined(excuse me if you don't use this in English it's not my native language)by the girl.Such an overrated movie. It's not bad or anything but it is in no way better than die hard and all the other movies that have a lower score Now for infinity war,I think it is a masterpiece in terms of blockbuster filmmaking.I mean it's not too 10 movies or anything but it definitely is top 250 especially if you have movies like mad max and batman begins in there. The movie gets your attention at minute 1 and leaves it when the post-credit scenes end(I am counting the credits because I was still in shock).Thanos is one of the greatest movie villians ever, the ending is comes off so unexpected and completely destroys everyone who was invested in these characters(even if we know they will come back),all of the fight scenes are amazing, the humor works for the most part and most of the actors are on their A game.Like just look at the spider-man/iron man scene at the end.Holland and Downey played perfectly in that moment there is nothing more they could have done and you have to respect that even if it won't last we watched spider-man die. That takes balls.

So I think that infinity war is a far superior movie to mad max fury road and deserves its box office success a lot more than something like TFA or JW.I would like to hear what arguments you have to support mad max. Also one more thing. The way you say that you are going to stop supporting Disney/marvel is ridiculous. It sounds like you actually think that they give a damn to losing a guy who was giving them average reviews to begin with.(How you can give average reviews to something like guardians of the galaxy or civil war is beyond me but whatever)It also sounds like you think are better than everyone else for "having the will to stop watching these godawful movies"If you don't like it don't watch it that simple. For example hate anime and DBZ but I am not going to watch all twelve seasons just so I can go and trash it on Tmdb conversations. Have a nice day :)

It's okay for the OP to dislike Marvel movies but when it takes you almost a decade because your brain is too slow to realise don't be shocked when I give you both barrels. Mad max fury is overrated dog turd I agree.

See, now Yondu gave an intelligent counter-opinion instead of calling the OP names. I liked Fury Road along with the original Mad Max movies. But, I agree that it was a bit over-rated. I'd much rather watch a Marvel movie. That's just my opinion, though. The older I get, the more I enjoy movies that are just plain old fun. These movies are just that. This brings me back to that other tread about "good" vs. "favorite." I thought the 12 Years A Slave was a very well done, well acted and well made film. I just didn't enjoy it. The subject matter (as it should be) was disturbing and painful to watch. I could probably list hundreds films, off the top of my head, that I'd rather re-watch other than that one. Most, if not all, of those films would probably be classified as inferior to it. That doesn't change the fact that I like them better. All of this being said, I will concede that it is quite silly that after 19 movies, it took the Starlord scene for the OP to decide that he didn't like this series. In fact, after re-reading Law's post, I've come to the conclusion that maybe there's a need for your blunt style, after all. Fire away Damien.

Dude, well said! I agree 100% and even have the same 2 movies in my top 5 (Matrix and Pulp Fiction), but I know Infinity War will crack my top 5 soon... I kind of have a rule (unenforced) that I don't put a "newer" movie in my top 10 because those are reserved for movies that stay with me over time (Se7en, Die Hard, Jaws, etc)... but no movie I've ever seen has stuck with me for as consistently long as Infinity War has. I saw it Thursday, and all day Friday I couldn't wait to see it again so I saw it on Saturday, and all week since I've thought about it so I'm going again tomorrow.

And us Americans do use the word "outshined" (thanks to Soundgarden)... maybe not enough but we all should understand your usage.

I think it's pretty good, I gave it a 7, but I didn't pick it because it's one of my favourites. I do remember, when I was leaving the theatre after watching it, thinking, So that's what a real movie feels like. I'd forgot. There's a weightlessness and inconsequence to modern blockbusters, which Fury Road managed to avoid because it was directed by a guy who still remembers how movies were made before digital filmmaking and CGI became the standard.

No, Infinity War doesn't have weight or consequences. Everything is filmed against a green screen so nothing feels real, and we know almost all the deaths will be undone in the sequel. Anyway, that's not its only problem, and if it were, I'd have shrugged and accepted it as another piece of watchable mass trash. It's probably the most contempt Disney has shown for its Marvel audience since Iron Man 2.

I mean really, Peter Quill just realized that his girlfriend was killed by her own adoptive father. How do you expect someone not to react under that situation. Because in real life when people find out there love one are murdered. They just sit there and act like nothing happened. Give me a break.

@Nygma-0999

I expect him to wait for them to get the glove off before doing whatever it is he did. That story beat is cliche, lazy, stupid, insulting and doesn't belong in the 21st century.

I suspect that everything that happened is the one way that Strange predicted would succeed (somehow).

Ya, which is another problem with the script. There's no tension now because if this is how it's happening, then it's the win that Strange predicted. It's one thing to know this on the meta level ("It's a Disney Marvel movie, of course the villain doesn't win and this will be undone."), and quite another for a character to say it out loud in the movie ("Dr. Strange said this is the one way they win so there's no reason to worry about any of this.") This movie basically falls apart as soon as it starts to focus on Thanos instead of the heroes.

Wow so many things wrong in your latest arguement it's just ugh.First of all let's get this out of the way,"it's the most contempt Disney has shown for its audience since iron man 2"???????This is wrong in so many levels. One:Disney didn't make this movie Kevin feige and the Russo brothers did,Disney has put of course regulations to kevinnfeige like you can't kill this character or you can't curse but for the most part they let marvel(by marvel I mean Kevin feige)do their thing. Two:This is basically a love letter to every marvel fan and to the original "infinity" comic books of the 80s.I would argue that the movie handles thanos and the avengers in a much better way than the comic ever did.I believe that there is no marvel fan in the world that can watch this movie and be like that's disrespectful to the source material.Don't make yourself sound like a marvel fan cause it is extremely obvious that you are not.So because you are not a part of the marvel fandom you have no right to say that this movie is disrespectful to its audience and to the source material.Sorry if am being rude here but that was an insult for me.Now as for the green screen there are some moments in the movie that don't work but for the most part they do.You can't make an avengers movie without cgi especially at this time in the franchise. Also unlike per say transformers the cgi here is used excellently to make the battle every marvel fan has dreamed off for the last 4 years come true.Another thing you said I have to comment one is that the movie" falls apart when it turns its focus to thanos".That's actually infinity war's strongest plus because by focusing on thanos you get firstly a truly awesome villain the best in the entire franchise and you don't fall into the trap of having to focus on 70 heroes. That was a genius move by the russos.Lastly you said"it's a Disney marvel movie of course the villian doesn't win".I am sorry but how many Hollywood movies can you name out of the top of your head where the villain actually wins and the heroes lose.I highly doubt you can name five. But even though we know spider-man is going to come back the performances sold it so perfectly that it actually hurt to watch it.That's another plus to the Mcu cause if Spider-Man was swinging alone you would never get this moment. That's the correct way of using a franchise. It doesn't matter Spider-Man is gonna come back cause right now he is DEAD and we have to sit through that. This is the riskiest blockbuster of the past ten years. If you really thought thanos was going to win after avengers 4 is set and done then that's on you for being absolutely stupid. As for permenant deaths vision,Loki and Gamora are probably not coming back and I assure you that some of the main roster will die in avengers 4.Either cap or tony. To end this I want to say that a movie can't break you if you were indifferent to the franchise to begin with.I can understand someone being angry with Disney when it comes to Star Wars but when it comes to marvel no I don't get it.

I also wanna say to kutanamar that I also have movies i think are great in terms of stracture but I wouldn't put them in my favorite movies list.Like I think the pianist is excellent and it made me feel excactly what it intended but I would rather watch jumanji or the jungle book(the new one)a second time. The pianist doesn't crack my top 30 favorite movies but it cracks the top 10 movies I think are the best. For the record in terms of best no marvel movie cracks my top 10 so there is that.

You can't even format your comment properly, so I'm not going to take you seriously. Also, Jumanji is mediocre, which is another reason not to value your opinion very highly.

The new jumanji is just popcorn fun that's why I mentioned it.It's not a movie I would put in any kind of list. But if I had to choose between seeing that again or the pianist I would choose jumanji. Also you lost my respect with that contempt comment so I don't really if you value my opinion or not

And thanks for the totally irrelevant off reply by the way, Mr internet teacher.

Aaah, my satire and pop-culture references are often misinterpreted. Pity.
