I mean, are they just going to ignore half of the people turning into dust?

so let me get this straight, disney wants to keep a series with a couple of million viewers on the air, to advertise the biggest and most popular movie franchise in history?

Yep. With the money they invest in the movies, they're not putting anything to chance.

I can go on, as there's been so many articles (and discussions) on this. Cloak and Dagger is probably going to be their advertising show on Freeform, they've already started having the cast intermingle with stars from their movies (like Chadwick Boseman) in shorts during commercials.

Both the flagship TV show and the movies are dealing with world-ending events that would affect all of the characters, but it feels that the studio is now dealing with the TV and movies as two separate universes that are no longer connected. While I've grown to love the team from AoS, the main draw of this show for me is still that it takes place in the same fictional universe as the MCU. It is disappointing if there really is no crossover anymore.

There's actually been over a dozen crossovers since season 1 (I posted a list of crossovers once on IMDB). People just don't seem to acknowledge that fact because the crossovers weren't specifically the Avengers, which I find a bit petty.

I can't remember them all now, but some I do remember from that list off the top of my head:

  • Phil Coulson (in every AOS episode)
  • Peggy Carter (in a flashback in "Shadows" and "The Things We Bury")
  • Nick Fury (in "0-8-4", "The Magical Place", and "Beginning of the End")
  • Maria Hill (in "Pilot", "Nothing Personal", "The Dirty Half Dozen")
  • Jasper Sitwell (in "The Hub" , "Yes Men", "End Of The Beginning")
  • Lady Sif (in "Yes Men", and "Who You Really Are")
  • Gideon Malick (in a shitton of episodes from "Among Us Hide..." to "The Team")
  • Matthew Ellis (in "Laws of Nature" and "Bouncing Back")
  • Dum-Dum Dugan (in a flashback in the episode "Shadows")
  • Felix Blake (in "FZZT", "End Of The Beginning", "Watchdogs", "Absolution", and "Ascension")

You're examples largely support my point that the show doesn't feel nearly as connected to the movies as it once did. Other than Coulson, none of these characters have made an appearance in the show for the past 2 seasons, and the only ones who are still involved in recent movies are Nick Fury and Maria Hill who haven't appeared in the TV show in nearly 4 years.

Coulson hasn't been in any MCU movie since 2012. We know he will be Captain Marvel next year, but it has been reported that the movie will take place in the 1990's. Unless they do a jump to have her re-unite with both of them in present-day at the end of the movie, there is little chance that the movie would even have an opportunity to reference Coulson's current whereabouts.

  • Phil Coulson (in every AOS episode) - The show was initially based around Coulson's work with SHIELD after he was "killed off" in the movies. No direct ties between his current status in the show and the movie plots.
  • Peggy Carter (in a flashback in "Shadows" and "The Things We Bury") - Her last appearance in the TV series was in season 2
  • Nick Fury (in "0-8-4", "The Magical Place", and "Beginning of the End") - His last appearance was in season 1
  • Maria Hill (in "Pilot", "Nothing Personal", "The Dirty Half Dozen") - Her last appearance was in season 2
  • Jasper Sitwell (in "The Hub" , "Yes Men", "End Of The Beginning") - His last appearance was in season 1
  • Lady Sif (in "Yes Men", and "Who You Really Are") - Her last appearance was in season 2
  • Gideon Malick (in a shitton of episodes from "Among Us Hide..." to "The Team") - His last appearance was in season 3
  • Matthew Ellis (in "Laws of Nature" and "Bouncing Back") - His last appearance was in season 3
  • Dum-Dum Dugan (in a flashback in the episode "Shadows") - His last appearance was in season 2
  • Felix Blake (in "FZZT", "End Of The Beginning", "Watchdogs", "Absolution", and "Ascension") - His last appearance was in season 3

Well Disney is still keeping the show going for now, so maybe they have something in mind for the next season (other than just keeping it going as a commercial for their movies).

Hahhahaha! :o)

so when AoS returns, they can "dust-off" maybe the ones we don't like, One of the "FitzSimmons" perhaps, keep daisy, Mac, Yo-Yo, keep Coulson, dust off May (bring her later after Avengers 4), this will allow AoS to add new characters in the new season, lets face it, apart for coulson and Daisy, the rest are boring, tiem to bring SWORD in as well, so that agent with Green hair can be cast and can be used in the next avengers movie..

The show isn't returning until after Avengers 4 though. Probably so they can avoid dealing with the dusting which will probably end up being retconned anyway.

Well, Luke Cage and Iron Fist have already disappeared.

Whoa! Never in my craziest dreams did I ever imagine someone would take offence from that.

It was offensively bad maybe. But I am sorry. I couldn't resist.

Well, you just gotta laugh through these things, dude. It's how you get through it.

And remember. We still have Daredevil.

We'll always have Daredevil.
