Discuss Ocean's Eleven

I mean, when they were putting the money where they put it, I thought about whether there were alternatives back then...

But, I'd watched these characters as the story progressed and just figured these guys would find a way to beat the odds (see what I did there?) and have an awe-shucks happy ending.

That final scene, pivoting from the heartbreak of an otherwise almost perfect scam, was absolute cinematic gold.

However, the film does lack polish. There were too many loose ends that needed more resolution to be a complete film.

On that wise, I still prefer the remake with Clooney, Pitt, Roberts, Damon, Cheadle, et al. It's a more well-rounded script, better humour, higher stakes, better screenplay, better dialog - and I don't just say this for any modern movie over older classics - Double Indemnity is always going to be on my top ten list in terms of story/script, and Vertigo/Rear Window will always be on my top five for most engaging screenplays.

Wow, didn't see that coming!

You're a few decades late to the party, Mus...

There's a lot of classic movies I haven't seen yet. The first time I watch them is the first time I watch them. And, hopefully, I may manage to avoid any spoilers so that I can watch the movie the first time without knowing how it all goes down.

I didn't see it coming either!

Saw this movie for the first time recently... Fun movie... Interesting to watch this having seen the remake first... I like it...

I had started into it a few years ago, and it was sooo slow, so disjointed, I tuned out. I had to put in work to revisit it and push past that point to where I actually began enjoying the actors (including "Mr. Stanley Roper" when he was cool!)

But, really glad I did. The remake certainly is different, but this original, in its own right, was engaging (eventually) and fun, for me, anyway.

Haven't seen the original but liked the remake.

As far as Double Indemnity goes, it is one of my favourites. Rear Window I liked. Vertigo no so much.
