Was it ever mentioned?
Peck tried to get the Ghostbusters out of business because he believed they were frauds responsible for the poltergeist but it was proven that Peck was wrong.
So how in this sequel are the Ghostbusters out of business when they saved the city?

Peter says a line to Jack Hardemeyer that they were stiffed by a beurocratic book worm. So I am guessing it means Peck got what he wanted.
Whats crazy is that the Mayor didn't back up the Ghostbusters knowing that they saved the city and they proved him right.
