Well WB/DC could totally screw this up. But it looks like a movie that wont make me want to slit my wrists after watching it. Like most of the DCEU have been so far.

After watching the 2 minute trailer, it looks like a cross between Zach Levy's old tv show Chuck (remember the Intersect?) and Tom Hanks' movie, Big.

I think its gonna be light hearted & fun movie...it won't make Black Panther type numbers, but it'll be well received. DC is definitely righting the ship & both Aquaman & Shazam! trailers were received positively!

It seems they do better when they don't try, hero movies, that is.

Iron Man was an unexpected hit, so was Guardians. No one saw them doing that. Same for Panther and at DC, Wonder Woman. All the hype has been over Affleck as Batman and who cares about that? And Cavill can't strike lightning at all. So of course the unknown as Wonder Woman works. I don't know if it was perceived Shazam was a joke. The '41 movie serial is a masterpiece, but Levi seems to be handling it well, and hope he does. Almost Deadpool looking, I suppose, but Shazam always had that camp bit to it, all the way back in Fawcett's comic books.
