As a collector of certain titles I always look forward to the release on media but of course am wary of the Director's Cut and extended cuts that used to be released well after the official release. Home release for the Marvel films seem to have cut back on special features and extras outside of the gag reel, featurettes, director commentary. I always looked forward to the extras but with Streaming services so prevalent all of that content now exists as part of streaming which I think really cuts into Home Media sales.
Doctor Strange has already been released in digital for Streaming services which I believe actually dampens the Home Media sales.

I buy most of my blurays through cex and any that I can't find in my local store I can just order from their website, which is great for finding oop or rare films.

When I buy movies it's nearly always on Bluray...
The picture quality and sound of bluray are noticably better than streaming as I have a very good sound system and projector in my media/theatre room... On the livingroom TV, it's close enough not to matter (sometimes hard to tell the difference), but in the dedicated room bluray wins every time... As a bonus, i get the streaming codes with a lot of the discs.
I rent only on streaming now... it's convenient and the quality is very good on AppleTV/itunes and good on Netflix as well... Amazing how far it's come and what is available to rent and enjoy with just a basic TV and device like an apple TV or Roku...
I rent most of my movies on itunes, but still buy blurays of favourite films and of aclaimed films I haven't seen, especially older ones or non-english language movies. The Bluray discs are usually well priced... Criterion Collection also have a very interesting selection of blurays, but are usually a bit pricier...
I haven't bought a UHD disc player yet, but I think I will at the end of the year once more titles are released and the players become cheaper and more reliable... The UHD discs are still a bit expensive and not that many movies are shot with these discs in mind yet...
