Discuss Return of the Living Dead III

Getting rid of the staple of the series. Why does everyone wanna go romero's route. This series was a comedy horror that worked fine on it's own

If you haven't seen it I'd suggest C.H.U.D 2: Bud the Chud which (I believe) was meant as a 2nd sequel in the ROTLD series and maintains the humour aspects... That said, I do like this one, it's much better than 4 & 5...

Really I've heard of it. But never seen it. Thank you for the suggestion.

The comedy of part 2 ruined that film, I'm glad this movie trod a different path.

YEAH. 1 IS CLASSIC.2 IS ONLY RELEVANT AS BEING 1'S FOLLOW UP.3 IS ITS OWN THING AND IT WORKS ON A SMALLER SCALE THAN THE ORIGINAL.

I agree, as a standalone film, ROTLD2 wouldn't be as talked about with another title. It has the advantage of following up a beloved 80s horror film (that outdid even Romero's Day of the Dead in the Box office), using some of the same cast. I LIKE ROTLD2, but do think some of the humor is "forced".

3 was great, even if more serious then the first 2. Kept the zombies an invincible force, creepy/scary in an odd, dreamlike way & plenty of gore for the gorehounds (moreso in the Unrated version vs the joke of an R-cut).

I didn't see any trivia where CHUD 2 was supposed be ROTLD3...I barely remember either CHUD movie, but based on what you said, I'm gonna watch CHUD 2 shortly (its on Amazon Prime Movies!)
