Discuss Fargo

I watched a couple of episodes of the series... It is mediocre.

Even in a low key film like this you can see just how much different movies are from TV series as a viewing experience. The TV format just can't capture the mood and atmosphere of the film. The dreamlike quality.

TV is still too nerdy, too concerned with relaying information to work on the aesthetics and tempo of a movie...

Did you guys feel the same?

I love the movie Fargo. When I started watching the series, I couldn't get into it. To be honest, I don't know what I was expecting. More often than not, a tv series never lives up to the movie.

I think the series are better than the movie, although I like both.

Undoubtedly both are great stuff. I have to lend my highest praise to the three separate series seasons. They stayed true to the roots of the film, there are easter eggs everywhere. Why the movie people don't like the series isn't a hard thing to understand, you have to like the slower burn pace(it's a series after all) and lots character development which makes the final episodes payoff so well, well that's my opinion. Nobody is wrong, folks just prefer different paces is all and some, like me, really enjoy investing time, even time not pertinent to the plot that goes into fleshing characters out really well for more impact later on.
