What a truly awful performance. I’m honestly shocked they allowed it to be captured on film. While Hope & Glory is for my money one of the seminal films of the 1980s, this half-baked sequel falls hard, and his bizarrre clowning doesn’t help. His British accent makes Dick Van Dyke seem like Michael Caine.
