Discuss Come and See

I feel this film is a bizarre WWII film that is almost a masterpiece. The first hour is a mess with weird directorial decisions. The second half is brilliant, a true reflection on the horror and madness of war. This latter section is the reason why Come and See is considered one of the best and most realistic war film, despite many surreal instances throughout the film.

Anyone else see this film yet? Let me know your opinion...

The 2nd half, while overlong, is effective as it shows how one group of people could feel itself superior enough over another that it could massacre many of them. One unusual directorial decision of having the main character, a little boy, age before our eyes must’ve been meant to show the soul-destroying effects of war upon those it affects.
