Discuss Return of the Living Dead Part II

Probably sacrilegious to many, but I prefer this to Part 1 and would even put Part 3 in at least an equal place to the original. It has the whole 80s comedy horror thing, a great soundtrack... Hell, it even has purple lightening (an absolute must for any comedy horror made between 1985 and 1989...) great special effects and fun one-liners... 4 & 5 were absolute dog-toffee though.

Apparently C.H.U.D 2 was going to be ROTLD 3 which makes sense as it in no way follows or resembles the original C.H.U.D film and the vibe is definitely similar to ROTLD 2

Nice! I have the dvd and VHS versions (both UK) what do you have them on? Not sure where you're from, but we still haven't got a br release in the uk

I am a fan of this movie too. Feels good to know that there are people who like this the same as i do.

The blu-ray will be out in August 2018. For me that's real good news.

Great news grinning

Means that account was deleted. Might have recreated it, but the account the comment was written with was deleted.

Thought so... I enjoyed the banter with glomps... :(

Shameful OP...ROTLD2 better then 1?!?! Why I oughtaaaaaa...

1 has a special place in my horror heart...arguably my favorite zombie film & Top 10 all time horror film! But I can see how 2, with its lighter tone and more kid-friendly story can be more enjoyable to some. 3 was fun as well, def a zombie love story to give Shaun of the Dead a run for its money!....

4 & 5 will be STRICKEN FROM THE RECORD! When I saw them being shot in the head and dying.....they LOST ME!

@jorgito2001 what can I say?! Love Part 2!! I even have the soundtrack on vinyl grinning Don't get me wrong though, the original is awesome!

Still waiting on that Blu-ray release...!! Edit just checked and it's got a region a release only... And at £35... :(

I'll probably get it eventually, but I'm waiting on news of a UK release and stick with my VHS and dvd copies in the meantime...!

Hey i just watched it on Blu-Ray. The colors and contrast are really sharp that it loses it's originality and setting. You can try it out and see how it works for you. I have decided to keep my DVD copy.

EDIT: Also, the crop is not proper. A few details from the top and the bottom are cropped out which means there are blind areas.

Ah that's not good... Thanks for the heads-up though, looks like I'll be waiting until it drops drastically in price!

Would you like to see the screenshots ? I could put them up for you.

That would be great, yes cheers!

@boxcat thanks for that, after seeing those I think I'll definitely wait and only buy a Blu-ray to complete the trilogy... The br colour looks nice in those pics, but obviously that can be controlled on the dvd version anyway... I think if I can pick one up for about £15 I'll be interested though... Thank you again! smiley

Oh and a quick question... Is the original music restored? In some scenes on the dvd there are different songs to the VHS which is quite jarring after growing up with the original version... The zombies coming out of the graves for example...!

It is the original score yes....!!

Well that's something! Same songs too? It's been a while, but I think some of them were changed...
