Probably sacrilegious to many, but I prefer this to Part 1 and would even put Part 3 in at least an equal place to the original. It has the whole 80s comedy horror thing, a great soundtrack... Hell, it even has purple lightening (an absolute must for any comedy horror made between 1985 and 1989...) great special effects and fun one-liners... 4 & 5 were absolute dog-toffee though.

Apparently C.H.U.D 2 was going to be ROTLD 3 which makes sense as it in no way follows or resembles the original C.H.U.D film and the vibe is definitely similar to ROTLD 2

Shameful OP...ROTLD2 better then 1?!?! Why I oughtaaaaaa...
1 has a special place in my horror heart...arguably my favorite zombie film & Top 10 all time horror film! But I can see how 2, with its lighter tone and more kid-friendly story can be more enjoyable to some. 3 was fun as well, def a zombie love story to give Shaun of the Dead a run for its money!....
4 & 5 will be STRICKEN FROM THE RECORD! When I saw them being shot in the head and dying.....they LOST ME!

@boxcat thanks for that, after seeing those I think I'll definitely wait and only buy a Blu-ray to complete the trilogy... The br colour looks nice in those pics, but obviously that can be controlled on the dvd version anyway... I think if I can pick one up for about £15 I'll be interested though... Thank you again!

Oh and a quick question... Is the original music restored? In some scenes on the dvd there are different songs to the VHS which is quite jarring after growing up with the original version... The zombies coming out of the graves for example...!

Well that's something! Same songs too? It's been a while, but I think some of them were changed...
