At the bit where Mrs Robinson says she'll call her daughter Judy to declare both her husband and Major West unfit and she'll take over, Professor Robinson should have said "Oh yeah? You and what army?" And Major West should have said "Oh yeah? Good luck piloting the ship on your own, Mrs Robinson!"

In these days of poor grammar / thinking, I've noticed that some folks don't seem to know the difference between "worthy" and "deserving."

Sorry, that comes off really off the subject.

Sounds like you wanted the "Pet Peeves" thread on the Big Bang Theory boards.

Yeah, you may be right.

My favorite one would have to be Lt. Ellen Ripley.

Naw she was fine. She was a flight officer, after all. Mrs Robinson and Dr Judy Robinson couldn't pilot their way out of a wet paper bag.

So what were they going to do, one of them take command and then tell Major West how to fly the ship?

Pshaw.

Like I said before, "You and what army?"

Did you see Alien, though? Rip tried to save the whole crew from certain doom, and they bascially ripped her head off for doing what she did.. uppity ass.

That doesn't really make her uppity and unqualified. She was right.

Whenever I see Major West, I imagine him being Joey and saying to them: "Hey, how you doin'?"

Maybe there's an outtake of that, when he's talking to Judy as she goes into the sleep pod. Would be funny.

I expected him to have ad-libbed "Hey, how you doin'?" right after Penny said "Proceed, Major West", and then wink at her in this scene.

Everyone on the set laughed and then later those words were cut out of the scene.

Maybe, but Lacey Chabert was probably 15 when that movie was made, possibly 14, and people are so uptight...

I know. Luckily for him it happened in the 1990s. Now it would have been all over the social media and the end of his career.

Yeah, doesn't matter. If it had happened then, it would get him cancelled now.

Would they do that if they knew he gave her a flower?

Probably make it worse.
