Read a REAL LIFE account of what happened behind the scenes when the film was being made …
Kubrick became good buddies with the actor …
went out drinking with him and played pool …
but once the movie was finished he turned his back on him and refused to have anything more to do with him after that.
Can't remember where I read about this, but since I also recall reading about Kubrick's Boxes at about the same time (a documentary was also made about them), perhaps that could also be where a mention was made of the way that he DUMPS the STAR of his film after he was finished filming???
If he STOLE money from him maybe that explains the reason why he refused to see him anymore???
If that is true (about the money) then Kubrick is a real scumbag. I totally believe the bit about the eye injury and Kubrick only concerned about the next camera shot. That is Kubrick 101.
