First of all I got to say nothing gonna change my love for Rey and the Star Wars. I think she is the real sexy. My brother Bobby he say no she no so special but that because I thinking he only liking the bigger ladies you know!
But I no care I think she good so I is look forward to Rise Skywalker it going to be real good.
Predictions on the Rise of the Mary Sue? How powerful will Rey be? Will she defeat Palps all by herself?
How does a mary sue character 'rise' up, having been born to perfection? A bad character will remain a bad character. A poor trilogy will end as poorly as it started.
I'm probably naive, but I think Rey may not be quite so over-the-top in Episode 9. For all of the numerous faults in The Last Jedi, I actually think Rian Johnson dialed her character back a bit in that movie, as compared to TFA (TFA is still the better movie overall, but I realize
that's not saying much).
As we all know, there's been a lot said in certain quarters concerning "gender politics" in Episodes VII and VIII, but from my own anecdotal evidence I think even many women are doing the "eye-roll" when it comes to Daisy Ridley's character: she is just not relatable to them.
For this reason and many others, I'm trying to be optimistic about Episode 9 . . . but I've been wrong in the past about these movies outside of the Original Trilogy more times than I care to admit (for me, only Rogue One approached the quality of the OT).
I recently saw a video where four female reviewers and Star Wars fans discussed Star Wars and other franchises but all expressed to hate Rey and the charicature for a strong fe male she represents .They also expressed their hate for what Hollywood has done to some of their most loved male characters in these franchises and Luke and Han with respects to the Star Wars franchise in particular. So it seems Kathleen Kennedy is not appealing to that demographic either.
And having Rey's parents be nothing special Rian turned her even more into a Mary Sue than she already was.

Sounds like an interesting video, can you please give a link to it?
Sorry Gus I tried to find the video in my search history but somehow YouTube must have erased it or the video itself has been erased but I can tell you that a number of female youtube reviewers who are heavily into the "nerd"culture and are fans of franchises like Star Wars and Star Trek have spoken openly of their hate for the current wave of gender swapping of beloved male characters and the mansplaining that seems to be the current agenda in Hollywood. Watch the various reviews by female Youtubers why the latest Charlie's Angels movie tanked and how they responded to the commentary by the film's writer, producer and director Elisabeth Banks . If by some miracle I happen to come across the discussion video I will send you the link.
A lighter note provided to you from your peers at the Star Trek boards who also suffer under the tyranny of Darth Jar Jar. Live long and may the Force be with you in these dark days✌

Se'll be exactly as powerful as the story demands I guess. Just like Luke and every other hero character there has ever been...

Rey has always been a Mary Sue but fortunately in this movie she has basically been surpassed by Kylo Ren.

Did Kylo Ren had a sex change in this movie? That is if he/she is a Mary Sue? But even so Mary Sue's don't die so Kylo Ren is not a Mary/Marty Sue.

Kylo Ren is the badass in this movie. Period.
