Discuss Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker

So at the moment there is no real buzz about this movie despite being Star Wars. Tons of crazy theories including time travel. Galaxy's Edge theme park is tanking. The toys are tanking because kids aren't interested in these awful new characters. Rumors that George gets a 25% kickback for original trilogy content which would explain why Disney has gone out of its way to ruin the old characters. I'm sure it'll still make money, just not as much as the first two.

So how much do you think this is going to suck? They're going to photoshop Leia in to it, Finn's probably still going to be a coward lusting after a woman who's more interested in an evil murderer, Poe will attempt to be witty and tell a joke in a tense situation, the Emperor is in there doing something, all of Lando's scenes will probably shot with him sitting down because even he can't be bothered to put in any effort for this, Hux will get a Force wedgie, they probably have to stop another planet killing weapon, there will be some kind of anti-Trump reference, Rey will turn out to be Space-Jesus.

What am I missing?

Well even it does make a billion it still only made a 100-200 million which will still be considered a flop by Disney certainly for a franchise like Star Wars.

If only Rose Marie Tran got more than a minute of screentime this wouldn't have happened.⏱️ It's all your fault. ☹️

Next up is Star Wars: The Rise of Rose Tico

Man....I never thought SW would become the new billion dollar Transformers. Sad times we are living in. :/

Hollywood got it's head so far stuck up it's SJW-PC ass that it can't tell the difference between shit and good storytelling.

I take it you have something against diversity and inclusion there Nex. Off to the re-education camp with you.

I have nothing against diversity or inclusion but what one doesn't need after being bombarded by it every time in daily life through the news and other media for it to be in every frickin' movie and also in such a manner that is often less than subtle or "organic" that the whole thing feels forced upon the story or forced down the throat of the viewer.Or worse when some guy/girl of a commercial entertainment company thinks his goal in life is to educate me in such manners as if I was a child or thinks that these issues automatically absolve that movie or series from valid criticism when he or she is called out for making a shitty movie or series. It's like every time a person who comes out for being gay or has a sex change should be rewarded a medal or should have a movie made about her/him while I am not rewarded with anything when I go to work on my bike every day sparing the environment not wasting fuel resources or putting out extra air poluion into the environment(nor should I).For diversity and inclusivety to be accepted people should make less of a fuss about it and treat it as normal by putting it on a pedestal your actually doing the opposite of what you are trying to achieve.

The problem is that "inclusion" is just a buzz word liberals use to make themselves seem righteous and draw attention away from poor writing.

Today we have much more diversity in movies than we've ever had but only a small portion of these characters are any good. Just look at these Star Wars movies, Finn's a goddamn joke. Rose was annoying and dressed in an ugly potato sack. The two Asian dudes in Rogue One, while interesting characters, were killed off. Cassian Andor, Riz Ahmed's character, Forest Whitaker's character, Thandie Newton's character, and the black chick in TROS are all forgettable.

Sure there are more non-white characters in movies but most of them are not well written, memorable, or engaging. "Inclusion" is not a substitute for bad writing.

It wouldn't matter if the Disney era trilogy had all white characters or no white characters, they'd still be garbage movies. Bad writing is bad writing. Rian Johnson should never be allowed to write anything ever again.

Too late he already made a new movie. And Hollywood still hasn't learned a thing because they are now going to make an all female Fight Club remake(oh god no)(totally ignoring the original themes and issues which made the original so good because it dealt with the problems most modern man come across in a post feminist world and how they should behave and act as a man and what it means to be a man). And when that also fails they can blame white men again.Hollywood is hypocrite they attack the viewers(customers) that are not open to their extremist views while letting people like Weinstein,Epstein,Spacey,Singer and many others have their way for decades so as damage control they now are trying to divert attention from themselves for not taking up their responsibilities when these things happened to the audiences by labeling white male viewers as ignorant Neanderthals and fandom of franchises as toxic.

I heard about this. Now I'll be honest, I'm curious to see how far they go with the violence because I do not see a large number of women actually getting together to full-on punch each other in face like I could imagine dudes doing, but can you imagine if someone made a movie/book/show about how women should act and behave and what it means to be a woman? Twitter would be on fire with hate messages from woman-babies.

Shouldn't it be called Nurture Club then. Or Empowering Club. Is Kirsten Stewart going to be in this? I'd pay to see that. How about remaking Mean Girls as Mean Boys. If you haven't read Chuck Palhniuk's original FC book it is just as good/bad as the FC movie. Leave the 90s in the 90s, I say. Also have to say lots of womeny films have been made in the past tough and soft

Calling the movie Chick Fight is not going to draw in the SJW woke crowd with a misogynist title like that. And male viewers in general won't be interested in a remake of a beloved movie with women beating the crap out of each other.Makes you wonder who Disney is making this film for?

It won't be about women fighting each other - too gauche - it'll be about women beating up men who are tied up and not allowed to hit back. And they'll call it #MeToo where you pronounce it Pound Me Too.

EDIT: Took a look at box office for TROS and apparently it hasn't cracked $1B yet. I suppose if they let it kick around in the theaters for another couple weeks or so it may get there.

It's expected to hit $1 billion on Sunday.

It still will be considered a flop and a failure considering the budget for the movie a similar amount for promotion and they money invested in making the toys nobody is buying.TROS is a massive and financial failure for Disney.People at Disney and Lucasfilm let their egos prevalate over the importance in making a number of good movies that could have made them shitloads of money. They manage to fuck up something which wasn't so hard to be made successful the will and the enthusiasm was there with the fans but Disney managed to fuck that up as well.Star Wars is now in a worse state than Lucas left it after the Prequel Trilogy and that is saying something.
