YES, forced female characters, these are typically characters that were male but now are forced to be female to signal how virtuous the movie is. There are some that aren't a big deal like Tilda Swinton in Doctor Strange but now they're talking about changing Alfred from Batman into a female, they're doing female Thor even though that comic run was so good it got cancelled, Ironheart isn't very popular either and now we've got this Batwoman show that's solely about the fact she's gay and she's better than all the men, because we all know how well it would go over if the gender and sexual orientation were reversed.

Instead of coming up with new original characters they would rather just take popular male characters and change them female, and then when they do create original female characters they are mary sues with no weakness, vulnerability or learning curve and stripping away their femininity to make them more masculine. And I can list a number of terrible male characters too so it's not just about female characters, but we can't criticize the female characters because muh sexism.

And the justification is always "but little girls get to see female heroes and that's all that matters!" completely ignoring how utterly terrible the characters are while ignoring good ones like Alita because that character wasn't feminist enough.

To answer the original question, I'm guessing it will suck majorly. I'm done with Star Wars. That last one (TLJ) was so ridiculous to me that it took away any interest in seeing future releases. I even passed on Solo and Rogue One.

Just look at Star Wars. Kids aren't buying the toys, no one is going to Galaxy's Edge, no one is hyped for the next movie, there are a thousand videos on how bad the last few movies are, yet you are called a sexist/racist/etc for not liking the new films even though they are objectively bad/mediocre. That franchise is dying, but instead of listening to fans and making changes they insult the fans and double down on their political messages.

If your movie or show only revolves around the race/gender/orientation of your character and doesn't have a good story then your product sucks and as a consumer it is my duty to relay that to these businesses.

I agree totally. This is why I tend to avoid most online forums these days. Instead of taking an impartial look at something for what it is, and discussing things in a rational way, some people will just parrot "sexism" as though it applies to everything.

I could strongly dislike a male actor or character in a film or tv show, and I guarantee nobody would say I'm a sexist or anti-male. So why are folks screaming for your head if you dislike a female character or movie/tv actress because their character or acting is flawed or terrible?

It seems like people who do this have no idea how to look at something objectively and without maintaining personal biases they have inside themselves. We can never have honest discussions when that happens, and you are not championing equality when that happens.

That's a lie. There are plenty of actors that are openly hated. Didn't Chris Pratt recently get bashed for wearing a shirt with a flag on it? There's Adam Sandler, Hayden Christensen, Charlie Sheen, Shia LaBeouf, Zac Efron, Jaden Smith, Mel Gibson, all actors who get tons of hate for various reasons.

When it comes to Brie Larson, what you are saying is we can't dislike her because she's a female. That's not how equality works. And it's not like people would love her if she were a man and said the same things she said because her gender is a non-factor as to why people hate her. Because of Queen Brie's comments. Swap Brie Larson out for almost any actress who wasn't a raging man hating feminist and the hate for that movie wouldn't exist. I do not recall anyone hating on the Wonder Woman movie or Gal Gadot. At least not men. There were feminists complaining she was too attractive and didn't have hair under her arms though.

But actress aside, Captain Marvel the character was never very good or popular. The best thing about that character was when Rogue stole her powers and put her in a coma. I would gladly trade Captain Marvel for Rogue from the 90s X-Men cartoon.

Look, I just want things to change. I don't like the way politics are infecting media and I'm not alone. With phraseology like that, maybe you ought to be writing these movies, instead of Round-Head Johnson or Jar Jar Abrams.

The fact that they were untill fairly recently doing re-shoots ; that there are six different endings they are playing with and the fact that they had to call in Lucas doesn't seem to be reason to be hopefull.Apart from that bringing back Palpatine so that he can probably have a light saber duel with Rey for the movie's finale doesn't sound like something I would go and see since it would be a rehash of ROTJ.
