Discuss Star Wars: The Last Jedi

So, apparently the fact that this movie seemed to be almost universally panned and disliked is all a lie and it's all a big conspiracy and the work of russian trolls and bots the study of Morten Bay from University of Southern California finds. So, if you think you dislike the movie....think again! You are either wrong or, most likely a russian bot/troll. I personally have to admit that I, and the majority of Star wars fans, have some serious soul searching to do after reading his study. I never identified as a russian or a bot, but you never know, do you.

That must be the reason I enjoy vodka well thanks for straightening me out there lol

О чем ты говоришь?

I am not Russian but I still hate it apart from unlogical plots, boring and irritating characters and storylines(the Canto Bright part in particular),radical changes from established canon and laws(just for the sake of being different and going oppose the expectations from fans). There are serious issues with this movie and it has probably one of the worst and most awkward scripts in movie history. For good SF to work one has to suspend disbelieve by creating a whole world with it's own rules and physics, sure the old Star Wars like most popular SF did also had these moments but managed to come up with some clever explanation. But TLJ is full of things apart from the overall problems it suffers from even minor things are sometimes just plain silly if not downright dumb.TLJ suffers from quantity over substance it just puts things onto the screen because it looks "cool".

Example; The scene;Luke uses a gigantic pole to swing from the island to an opposing rock cliff ,on the rock-cliff Luke raise the gigantic pole from the stream of water where it is revealed to have a harpoon on the bottom end which he uses to catch a fish.

Apart from the awkward attempt at slapstick and the practicality of using such a giant harpoon, because why use such a clumsy and dumb device when one can use a fishing line (which probably has a higher rate of success as well). The immediate question after that scene that arose was;where did the wood to make such a gigantic pole came from? since the Island Luke is on has very sparse vegetation(some grases and bushes but NO TREES).

And this is just one example of the many things so wrong with this movie ,apart from the whole SJW agenda, and other points already raised by others. This movie fails at the most simplest levels it's a symphony of stupid where the director didn't understand the laws and physics of the world already created by others. It tries to show off at being different, being against expectation by using awkward comedy ,big SFX (without overthinking the logic what is displayed),shallow ,dull sometimes downright irritating characters who are a carbon copy of previous characters etc etc .Compared to this Plan 9 From Outer Space by Ed Wood is a masterpiece especially since you consider this movie probably had a budget of around $200million.

That film was shit. I didn't like it, nor will I ever watch it again. I won't be going to see Part IX, and I've never been to Russia.

Thank you A-Dubya what puzzles me the most though that most film critics actually thought that it was a good movie But even when you look at TLJ purely from a movie making 101 perspective this movie is a disaster in fact the only scene where it did look like the writers were making some effort was in the "throne-room"with the Snoke .Rey and Kylo Ren interaction.Apart from that everything else has issues.
