Absolutely love this film, I know I'm in the minority here but I rate this above the original and probably as my number 1 80s vampire flick...
*2. The Lost Boys
*3. Near Dark
*4. Vamp
*5. Fright Night
Not the greatest movie list I know, but are there any better 80s vamp films?

The original Fright Night is one of my favorites, but I enjoyed the sequel and thought it was a solid follow up. I just wish Amanda Bearse could've been in it.
Another fun 80s vampire movie is Vampire's Kiss. Nicolas Cage is hilarious in it. It's kind of a "love it or hate it" movie, though.
I tried watching Once Bitten recently and couldn't even finish it (it was so bad). It's one of Jim Carrey's first movies.
Another 80s one I've heard a lot about is The Hunger, but I haven't seen it yet.

Check out The Hunger. Also for a fun 80's vampire flick check out My Best Friend Is a Vampire.

Vampires Kiss was a good twist on vampire movie... My Best Friend is a Vampire (aka I Was a Teenage Vampire) Monster Squad was fun... Sundown: The Vampire In Retreat...
Never saw Once Bitten, but The Hunger is a very sombre film imo, very atmospheric.

I found this one a bit of a bore. Took 50 minutes to an hour for things to get moving.
