so in the end they decided to swap them back or they just keep visiting each other?
would not be better solution to somehow move together nearby, the rich guy can manage that for sure and they can live not far from each other like one big family in the end
did the nurse really swapped them intentionally or it was just convenient cover up for hospital since it was already beyond possible punishment?

personally i don't think I would swap back my child, who cares about blood, what matters are those six years you spent with your child, no matter if it's biological or not, the look is not so important, what matters is how you raise your child in what enviroment and not genes affecting his behaviour

Yes. I think that would have been the solution to explore from the outset. 6 year old is too old to go messing about like that I think.
I never thought of that, but it might explain why the nurse was knowledgeable about the statute of limitations. Although the film did portray as her as sincere and a key moment in the film is when her 'son' stood up for her.

I thought this was borderline outstanding. Really thought provoking and well executed. It's made me reflect on my own life a bit.

Been watching Koreeda's movies lately, and after seeing Like Father, Like Son, I pretty much had the exact same first two question in my mind as OP when the end credits started rolling. Came to pretty much the same conclusion as Fergoose on my own, but had not given thought about the third one regarding the nurse, well spotted OP!

In any case, enjoyed Like Father, Like Son quite a bit, Koreeda certainly has a knack for deep drama that makes viewers assess and reflect in a profound manner. Excellent film overall and this currently ranks as the second best Koreeda film in my books so far, just after the stellar Maborosi.

funny you just reply now, I just finished first three episodes of his new TV show Asura, seems pretty good, not as good as these earlier movies but still nice
