Guy in a police station narrates a story about a crime, positioning himself as an object of the story, rather than the subject he's later revealed to be.

Yeah, yeah, I know it's not exactly the same as TUS...but the mechanics are similar. And this is no criticism, it's a nifty plot device that, to be used more than once requires craft which, I believe, happened here.
