How does this compare to the Harvey Keitel one?
I have only seen this one... I thought it was ok, elevated by Cage and had some nice Herzog touches...

I found Herzog's film to be a much more hopeful one than Ferrara's... it doesn't just shove us into the black pit at the end, but instead, closes with a shot of men in front of an aquarium. It's also more humorous.
