I have this movie on DVD and on one of the extras a producer mentions how they decided to change the story 'Soldier's Wife' (that later became 'The Crying Game') from a genetic woman to a transsexual after going to this drag club in London called 'Madame JoJo's". He says how it was incredible to think these beautiful women were actually men. However, then they had a featurette of the club and the performers. MY GOSH!! Sorry, but those creatures hardly made up into beautiful or believable women. Jaye Davidson did appear as a real girl, but not those in this club. This producer reminds me of the guys that will lust after transgenders in secret, regardless of how masculine and manly they look, but then refuse to have anything to do with them outside of the bedroom.
