DC Universe Animated Original Movies are direct-to-video film projects being created by Warner Premiere, Warner Bros. Animation, and DC Comics. With the help of producers like Bruce Timm, who helped create The DC Animated Universe and Andrea Romano who worked as the voice director, now currently working on most of the Movie projects. They've also included many of the voice actors who worked on the DCAU to return as the same characters like before on some of the films. Unlike the DC animated universe, which was aimed at mostly younger viewers, these line of movies are aimed at a more adult audience. They feature some mild language, bloody violence and other adult themes, showing the same kind of mature-rated print and viewing from modern-day DC Comics graphic novels and comic issues. Currently, twenty feature-length films have been released with additional films slated for release. The first film was released in 2007 and in each year since two to three have been released. Additionally, five short films have been released. They are either rated PG-13 or PG. Most of these films have had self-contained storylines, but starting with the 2014 release of Justice League: War, two of three films released per year will be interconnected.
