Hao Huixian is a gambler. He wakes up startled after dreaming of cheating during a game with his neighbours Li Yunshun, Fan Wenxiang and Ma Lingshu (Potato). Yunshun and Wenxiang rented their HDB flat to their son, Siyuan, when they moved into their daughter, Si'en's condominium unit. Siyuan runs a tuition agency. As his wife, Isabella, needs to go on a business trip and the maid is on leave, he makes plans for his parents to take care of his son, Huanhuan. Wenxiang is unhappy Huanhuan is closer to his maternal grandmother, Elizabeth. Potato organises a wedding anniversary party, in the hope of earning some red packet money, but his neighbours prove too smart for him. Potato is tempted when Bai Baoxiang offers to get tenants for him. Unfortunately, his two rooms have already been rented out.

Peace Photography Studio is an established but traditional studio founded 80 years ago and had 5 branches in its heyday. Now, there's only a single studio left and is managed by Pan Renyi and daughter Pan Zejia . Pan Zejia quietly helped out at the studio as she feels indebted to Pan Renyi who helped her settle a huge debt 10 years ago, and as a result, she remained single since then.

Ke Yuanhang is a newspaper reporter who is kind and magnanimous, although 5 years younger than Pan Zejia, a friendship soon developed. While Pan Zejia is irritable and impatient, Ke Yuanhang is gentle and caring. Their hindrances do not stop there, as Pan Renyi is constantly at loggerheads with Ke Yuanhang's mother, Hong Ziyi. Due to Pan Renyi's temperament, he does not get along with all his children, the matter is made worse when Pan Zejia's mother suddenly died in a car accident.

The drama follow the lives of the middle class Chukot family, who helps organize a housekeeping business in Hong Kong. The family works through domestic struggles and family changes after eldest son Joseph is left with unpaid company debts handed down by his business partner Fred, who mysteriously disappears with the money not long after they started the Master Home Services Company. Joseph is also left in care for Fred's struggling girlfriend Kam and her 4-year-old son, Sing. Joseph's family, led by his mother Ka-ka, decides to help the business by attending the housekeeping work themselves.

The drama's original run premiered on 27 December 2010 on Hong Kong's TVB Jade and TVB HD Jade channels.

Crowned: The Mother of All Pageants is an eight-episode competition that featured multiple mother-daughter teams working together as pairs to win a beauty pageant competition. The show ran for eight episodes on The CW from December 12, 2007 to January 30, 2008.

The competition was judged by Carson Kressley, Shanna Moakler and television personality Cynthia Garrett.

Each pair attempted to brand a 'style' for their mother/daughter team via clothing and swimwear, create ways of expressing a point of view about issues in the world, and practice for the big pageant dance number. The prize package included a $100,000 cash award, a custom-designed platinum and diamond crown necklace, and tiaras.

The show was a production of Swim Entertainment and Fox Television Studios, with creator/executive producer Laurie Girion.

On May 13, 2008, The CW officially cancelled the series. The show averaged 1.79 for its sole season.

Linnea Mancini Maloney won the Miss New York USA 1988 title and went on to compete in the Miss USA 1988 pageant. She played in all Episodes 1-8 as the Pageant Director of Crowned, The Mother of all Pageants.

Nothing in Common was a 1987 television series on NBC starred Todd Waring in the role of David Basner and Bill Macy in the role of Max Basner. Seven episodes were broadcast immediately after the highly-rated series Cheers but didn't pick enough audiences. The short-lived series was cancelled because of low turnout.

The series was inspired by the 1986 film by Garry Marshall starring Tom Hanks and Jackie Gleason also entitled Nothing in Common in which Hanks played David Basner and Gleason protrayed Max Basner.

Todd Waring later reprised another Tom Hanks role in a TV sequel to Splash for The Wonderful World of Disney called Splash, Too.
