Rescue: Special Ops

Rescue: Special Ops is an Australian television drama series that first screened on the Nine Network in 2009. Filmed in and around Sydney, the program is produced by Southern Star Group with the assistance of Screen Australia and the New South Wales Government.

This drama series focuses on a team of experienced professional paramedics who specialise in rescue operations. It premiered on Sunday 2 August 2009, and the season finale of the first season aired on Sunday 25 October. A second season screened from 28 June 2010. The third and final season consisting of 22 episodes screened from 30 May 2011. The Nine Network has confirmed it will not be renewing Rescue Special Ops for a fourth season.

The Guard

This one hour drama follows the search and rescue (SAR) team of the Canadian Coast Guard. The crew of the MLB Cape Pacific is lead by Captain Miro DaSilva and its First Mate Laura Nelson. The crew is rounded out by Coast guard rescue swimmers Andrew Vanderlee and Carly Greig.

Rescue Heroes

Rescue Heroes was initially a line of toys from Fisher-Price introduced in 1997. Rescue Heroes depicts various rescue personnel and their equipment. In 1999, an animated television series based on the figurines was released. A film titled Rescue Heroes: The Movie was released in 2003, and it was based on the TV series.

Extreme

January 29, 1995

Extreme is an action adventure series starring James Brolin and centered around a Rocky Mountains search and rescue operation.

Debuting on ABC on January 29, 1995, Extreme was the lead-out program which followed the network's coverage of Super Bowl XXIX. The show was unsuccessful and ABC canceled the series after seven episodes aired. The final episode aired on April 6, 1995, with six episodes left unaired.

Following the failure of Extreme, the Big Four networks have largely steered themselves away from premiering new programming after the Super Bowl and have instead chosen to run special episodes of their own programming. After Extreme, it wasn't until Super Bowl XXXIII that a network elected to premiere a new series following the game; in addition to a special episode of The Simpsons, Fox aired the premiere episode of Family Guy, "Death Has a Shadow" as part of a 60-minute postgame comedy block. The network did the same thing in 2005, with the premiere of American Dad! following another Simpsons episode. The most recent series to premiere after the Super Bowl was Undercover Boss, which premiered on CBS following their broadcast of Super Bowl XLIV.

Police Rescue was an Australian television series The series dealt with the New South Wales Police Rescue Squad based in Sydney and their work attending to various incidents from road accidents to train crashes.

High Mountain Rangers

January 2, 1988

High Mountain Rangers was a weekly television series about a group of highly trained wilderness search and rescue/law enforcement officers in Tahoe, Nevada.

It starred Robert Conrad as Jesse Hawkes and also starred his two sons, Christian Conrad and Shane Conrad. Robert's daughter Joan was the executive producer. Only 12 episodes were broadcast, from January 2, 1988 until April 9, 1988 on CBS, before the low-rated show was cancelled. Although the series lasted just one season, it had a spin-off titled Jesse Hawkes. That show was canceled after only six episodes.

Code R

January 21, 1977

Code R is an American action-adventure television series that aired on CBS from January 21 to June 10, 1977. Code R focuses on the emergency services of the California Channel Islands. The series stars James Houghton, Martin Kove and Tom Simcox and ran for a single season of thirteen episodes.

Sierra

September 12, 1974

Sierra is a short-lived 1974 television crime drama series focusing on the efforts of National Park Service rangers to enforce federal law and to effect wilderness rescues. The program aired on NBC and was packaged by Jack Webb's Mark VII Limited for Universal Television. John Denver wrote the show's theme song. Robert A. Cinader, executive producer of Mark VII's Emergency!, handled this program also; Bruce Johnson produced.
