Tratto dall’omonimo manga di Yuki Midorikawa, “Hotarubi no mori e” racconta la storia di Hotaru, una bambina che perdendosi in una foresta incontra uno youkai dalle sembianze umane di nome Gin. I due fanno subito amicizia ma Gin avverte la piccola Hotaru che, a causa della maledizione del Dio della montagna, non può toccare né essere toccato dagli esseri umani, altrimenti sparirebbe per sempre.
