Overview

In the Line of Duty is a series of girls with guns feature films produced by Hong Kong movie studio D & B Films which star, in the first two, Michelle Yeoh and, in subsequent instalments, Cynthia Khan as a police officer who combines use of firearms with martial arts. The third was the first to use the In the Line of Duty title, retroactively applied to the two Michelle Yeoh vehicles.

Two unlucky thieves break into a just murdered man's hotel room and steal his passport with a hidden microfilm wanted by a triad boss. Two hard kicking women cops from HK and UK get the case.

When a tough policewoman learns about a group of violent terrorists, she, along with her partner and a Japanese detective, does everything it takes to take them down.

Genji Nakamura and his partner Michiko Nishiwaki are thieves for the notorious Red Army terrorist organization in Japan. After pulling off the jewelry heist of the century in which dozens of people get killed, they are now planning to use the jewelry they've snatched to buy an arms cache.

Two detectives who are up to their necks in trouble and in each other's face, as they try to shut down a drug-trafficking scheme that could be connected with international ties to organized crime. But in the midst of their investigation, innocent immigrant dock worker Luk Wan-Ting gets caught up in the mix when he witnesses the murder of an intelligence operative and is framed for the crime.

When he is framed for being a spy because of his friend's illegal activities, David must escape from police, CIA, and assassins with the help of his cousin.

Hong Kong policewoman Yeung teams up with Taiwanese and Mainland officers to take down a gunrunning ring.

Madam Yeung is assigned to investigate a serial murder in a Philippine cargo ship anchored in Hong Kong.

Though policewoman Hsie Wan-chin (Cynthia Yang Li-ching) is merrily planning for her wedding with fellow cop Wilson Tsiang (Lawrence Ng Kai-wah), he is having an illicit affair with her best friend, May (Moon Lee). When Wilson tries to break things off, May doesn't take it well. When she learns that Wilson and Wan-chin are moving to England, she completely loses it.

A disc with the names of Triad members is taken away, and when the gangsters try and find about where it is, they kill the only person who knows the hiding-place. So, what can be done now to retrieve the disc? The Hong Kong police are looking for the murderer and the disc, but Inspector Yeung has to realize her fiancée Ho Chan is one of the gangsters! The trace of the disappeared disc leads to Malaysia, where the victim's girlfriend lives...
