2024 definitely presented some new challenges for Tim and I. Remember last year when I said we finally hired a new team member, and that our team had grown to 4 people? Well, we’re back down to just the 2 of us. 😢 I have been promising getting to attack some of our backlog for a while but it seems as though it’s just not in the cards at the moment. It's a sad reality for me but sometimes, you just gotta roll with the punches. This reality is not enough to sway my continued belief that we're building something special, every single day.
From a platform perspective, TMDB has been killing it. We set a few new benchmarks in 2024. For starters, we finally rolled over the 1 million (non-adult) movie mark. Crazy that this database started with just 6,000 movies and that 994,000 of them have been hand created by you. We also had our first 100 million (unique user) month. Pretty wild, right? On the contribution side, as outlined in this year’s wrap, we had just another banger of a year. More or less, new records across the board, all thanks to you.
Next year’s wrap (the 2025 edition) will be our 10th year publishing this feature. I’ll see if we can do something a little more special than usual. Until then, have a great 2025, and I’ll see you again in January.
