BBC cuts nazi speech

In part 2 'The killing game" A nazi gives a impassion speech and the BBC cuts half of it out.
The actor was very good. It was key momet of the plot and it was strangly cut. Did the BBC think it would make new nazis?
It was that speech that made TURANJ betray his commander and kill him. That 1 speech was perhaps the whole focal point of the whole story line. Question: If they need time why not cut the long into/crdit scene?

Yeah they also censored a bit where the Northern Irish terrorism of the IRA was given as an example of where terrorism actually worked.

I think that's mentioned in the article. It wasn't just the BBC who were wary of anything that didn't portray the IRA as anything but evil, cold-hearted killers. IIRC ITV wouldn't screen one of the most-loved episodes of "Beauty and the Beast" - S01E05: Masques - because of a plot that involved the IRA. The plot was apparently foisted on writer George R. R. Martin (yep, that GRRM), who just wanted the leads to spend Halloween together "Above" as it was the one night of the year they could be together in public as people would assume Vincent was just a guy in costume.

Aren't you afraid the whole Brexit will reignite the animosity between the Republicans and Unionists in Northern Ireland Philippe? since the whole open borders between Ireland and Northern Ireland was key in the Good Friday Treaty .Also the Scotts don't seem to be all that pleased about Brexit so it seems the UK has a rough year coming up ahead.

Very worried. Though I can't see why they can't just be civilized. Other nations have borders and don't go around bombing each other (under normal circumstances). However, apparently it's OK for the Irish to hold grudges, probably going back to the time when Finn O'Shea stole 4 head of cattle from Daragh Murphy back in 1324, but if an old guy mentions WW2, he's a xenophobic racist.
TBH, I don't blame the Scots. If Brexit was really about "taking back sovereignty" (and not about making Johnson, Rees-Mogg and their chums even richer) then parliament should recognise that the Scots want to make their own decisions and let them secede.
Times are going to be godawful in the UK for the next couple of decades, I'd imagine.

You and and Mme LeMarchand have my sympathies and I understand and share your worries about the Northern Irish situation especially after recent revelations about military and MI 6 supported unionist death squads killing family of IRA members in order to get them to the negotiating table(was recently on BBC4)and I hope people can keep their heads cool and not let the past stir up emotions too much.
And I agree that people got themselves tricked by people who's interest is not the well being of the average British citizen but more their own businesses and making more money under guise of taking back sovereignty and I understand the Scots completely if they want to break loose of the Union since they owe a lot of their welfare to the EU.And leaving the EU doesn't seem to have diminished the influx of immigrants in fact the problem seems to have worsened judging from the increasing numbers of immigrants being intercepted from the ports of Rotterdam and Hoek van Holland the last year or so.
Philippe though we do not always share each others opinions on certain tv shows when politics is concerned we probably agree more on certain issues than our tastes in tv shows might suggest and know that we in the Netherlands very much regret not having the UK in our corner (most of the times)anymore to make a political block against the German French axis of the EU when dealing with EU policies.
So I wish you and Mme LeMarchand all the best and hopefully the future will not turn out as bleak as predicted.So Philippe I wish you the best of luck and thanks for an engaging and civilized conversation.
