The Movie Database Support

The movie title Cold War is two different movies, one from 2017 and one from 2018. I wanted to specify the 2018 movie so I did this search:

cold war y:2018

You would expect the 2018 film Cold War to show up first, but instead the first film in the search result is the 2017 film Cold War. This is also affecting applications like Infuse that rely on themoviedb to correctly show the first result. Could someone look into this search bug?

This also happens with the film Tracks. If you specify 2013, it doesn't show that as the first result. https://www.themoviedb.org/search?query=tracks%20y%3A2013&language=en-US

Hi, there should be an official reply about this somewhere. Original titles get a higher priority if I remember correctly so that is why this happens in your example.

As for the second example (Tracks) it could just be a popularity issue. I fixed the incorrect second search-result (wrong original title added) so now it's second at least.

Search will get an over-haul eventually. I also found this: https://trello.com/c/FhpxaRAx/132-support-searching-for-exact-matches
