None of his films are what you would call kid's films or action adventure films, isn't exactly the most ideal choice to do a Batman film or a family friendly film usually go with someone whose a genre filmmaker or an auteur or hotshot director, he was probably only hired because he was a studio friendly director.

Definitely some Studio interference which he mentions in the interviews. I believe he was MASSIVELY pressured to use Bane since he had become a comic book favorite thanks to the Knightfall story arch (where Bane breaks his back)...very similar to studio pressure to use Venom in Spider-man 3...and we all see how those rushed villians turn out.

Don't think they should've hired him if they wanted a kid's film and I don't think his Year One would've happened anyway for one it was only two films in and the stuff in Year One had already been covered in the first two films like the police seeing Batman for the first time and Catwoman. Year One isn't what you do for a third installment it's what you do for a first of a series of films.

No, Schumacher pitched it AFTER Batman & Robin and WB already wanted to reboot the series.
In fact, had B&R been well received, Schumacher was already on board for "Batman Triumphant", read about it HERE!!!!!!!!!! Pretty interesting read..and would've been an epic ending to the Burton/Schumacher series prior to a reboot!

Actually pitched it during Forever and B&R.
B&R wasn't well received it was badly reviewed. A fifth film was green lit after seeing the dailies of B&R, but when the film underperformed they scrapped plans for Triumphant.

I know, I said HAD B&R been well received.
And according to the article (if you read it) that's NOT exactly the order of events, but whatever...we never got the 5th movie, but some elements were used in Batman Begins including the Scarecrow.

He let his gayness shine through with bat nipples and well endowed crouch plates.

The open knowledge of it is just attracting ridicule.
