Discuss Return of the Jedi

I certainly do, since I could live without the prequels and especially the Disney crap.

No, you're right. When I say, "Disney's trying to kill it," that's my over-reactive way of saying that I'm super unhappy with what's happening. If nothing else, Disney would like to milk the cow until there's nothing but bone dust left in a heap. Without hyperbole, I think Disney's plan for the franchise is going to railroad people into Star Wars Fatigue super quick.

Kinda like what is going on with the comic book movies. IMO they have already been driven that into the ground to the point that I don't even want to see another comic book film.

My sentiment exactly. The last comic book film I saw (if you can call it that) was X-Men Apocalypse, and only because I was lied to and tricked into going to the theater. I walked out after 20 minutes, and haven't seen a comic book film since, including the recent Thor 3. Fatigue took about 10 years to set in for comic books, while I've already heard some friends and YouTubers discuss Star Wars Fatigue after only 2 years. Disney is going to feel the diminishing returns pretty quick, I think.

At one point, a Disney person (Kathleen Kennedy?) mentioned that they wanted Star Wars to be a generational event. I don't see how they can achieve that while also turning out a film every year for the next however many years.

Well, why don't you? Nobody's forcing you to watch or even acknowledge their existence - you're the captain of your own canon, if you know what I mean...

Such common sense will almost certainly be ignored by the whiney OP.

I'm not whining, I simply asked the question to start a discussion. I'll clarify that I don't hate the prequels as much as many people do, there were things I liked about them and Episode 3 was decent. I just didn't enjoy Force Awakens, to me it was boring and depressing and I haven't seen Rogue One. I may just ignore the rest of the Disney stuff, but for every one else that enjoys it, feel free to do so.

Yes especially the Disney crap. I could live without the new Alien movies and Terminator movies too, well pretty much every remake of an 80's film for that matter!

I'm glad it's still going.

Some of the 2017 comments are more prophetic than others. We've seen Star Wars is not too big to fail.

I haven't watched the prequels in years and the newer ones haven't left a great impression. I've been a fan for decades and spent thousands on the franchise but The Last Jedi made me lose interest in keeping up with it. Not a small feat.

I FEEL THE DISNEY STAR WARS GET A BAD RAP.THEY ARENT GARBAGE,THEY JUST ARENT ORIGINAL TRILOGY GOOD.ROGUE ONE WAS BADASS..IT JUST WAS.

Rogue One was OK. It was not "badass". Gimme a fuckin' break. You should have ended your statement at "THEY JUST ARENT ORIGINAL" . And actually the Solo movie is the best Disney Star Wars film IMO. It wasn't great but it was OK and better than Rogue One.

SOLO IS BORDERLINE PARODY...ITS THE WORST.ROGUE ONE KNEW GOING IN NO ONE GETS OUT A LIVE..A LOT MORE FREEDOM,WAY BETTER RESULTS.I STAND BEHIND MY OPINION;ROGUE ONE IS BADASS.

BORDERLINE PARODY? I guess you missed all those godawful, shoehorned scenes in Rogue One that were meant to invoke nostalgia like when they run into the assface and acid face who give Luke a hard time in the cantina. Shit, the movie shoehorns some shit from ANH within the first five minutes of the film as it pans the camera on th fucking blue milk. Yes, the same blue milk Luke is drinking when he is having dinner with his folks and discussing wanting to leave for the academy. It was so fucking ham-fisted as if to scream LOOK, BLUE MILK! YOU KNOW, LIKE THE SAME BLUE MILK LUKE WAS DRINKING IN A NEW HOPE. GET IT? BLUE MILK!! Its like Jesus fucking Christ, you guys have the finesse of a figure skater with down syndrome.

IT WAS BADASS..ARE YOU UNDER THE IMPRESSION THAT OPINIONS CAN BE WRONG ADN THUS CORRECTED?

I didn't hate The Force Awakens, but I absolutely detested The Last Jedi. That one made me not want to watch another Star Wars film ever again.

TFA was just unoriginal and uninteresting. It wasn't a bad film just not good. TLJ is an abomination. It's daddy shoulda pulled out.

I live in a nation where a blathering idiot is elected President so no, I do not believe opinions can be corrected. Once someone has made up their mind that something is wonderful there ain't no changin' it.

I never knew the sight of blue milk could get someone so agitated!

Rogue One was garbage for, despite all the crappy shoehorning (the Cantina guys was the absolute worst imo) trying to link it in with the established universe, they utterly failed to make it have any continuity with either ANH or the prequels! It was a massive red flag for what was to follow in TLJ...
